Welcome to the Muse’s Cave!

booksheldwebWelcome to the Muse’s Cave!  This is where you will find the writings of Carolyn Lee Boyd about creativity, along with posts about inspiring creative women, some poetry, and a chance to write about your own journey to your creative self.  This is my “library,” if you will, and one of a number of related blogsites that, together, make up my “home.”  I hope you will feel free to wander around here, just like you would in a real-life library, and take some “books” off the shelf and browse through them, look at some “portraits,” and while away some time, then write a bit about your own creativity.

I call it The Muse’s Cave because I love the image of having a quiet cave in which to contemplate and create, just like our ancient ancestors did, and we all have muses who connect us to each other.  Some of my muses have been inspirations for decades, some of them for just a poem or two.  Some are real people while others are fictional characters of my own making.  You will find some of them in the The Portrait Gallery.  I couldn’t create any of the pieces I have without them.

You might wish to start in my kitchen, also called “Goddess in a Teapot.”  This is where you will find my latest blog posts, news about publications, tea recipes, and a place to chat. It’s just like when you go in the back door to someone’s kitchen and sit down for a little tea and conversation.

If you are interested in spirituality, come downstairs to The Sanctuary Within, where you will find writings about spirituality and information about my novel of the same name.

Finally, don’t forget my “attic,” which I call the “Circle Generations” because it is all about bringing spirituality and creativity together to envision the future while honoring the past.

If you go outside, you’ll find yourself in my “garden,” The Grove of the Queen Pine,” where you’ll find writings about nature and the seasons as well as some photos I’ve taken in nature.

In each place, you are welcome to share your own thoughts, ideas, and stories!

But for now, you are in my library, so feel free to read, relax, and enjoy!

7/18/09 — A bit of news…  Moondance has just published a new column of mine about the importance for women of making our own lives into stories that inspire us.  You are invited to read it here.
